Bike lanes are an example of excessive municipal spending. The bike lanes only service a small percentage of the population and $7.5 million has already been spent on the downtown bike grid. There is also a southern expansion under construction at a cost of $5.8 million.
Despite spending millions on bike lanes, councillors still receive a monthly vehicle allowance of $601.35. When elected, I will donate $28,864.80 to communities in tastawiyiniwak, which is the amount of the councillor vehicle allowance over a four-year term.
